EPC 2016, Mainz
The European Population Conference (EPC) is the largest European conference for population research. The EPC is held every two years and this year was carried out in Germany, Mainz from August 31 to September 3, 2016. The conference main theme this year 'Demographic change and policy implications' focused on policy advice. From 1st September to 3rd September a total of around 500 papers has been presented in parallel sessions and approximately 250 posters in several exhibitions have been shown. Approximately 900 participants from all over Europe and overseas attended the conference.
The event was very special for our Institute this year as Zsolt Spéder, dierctor of the HDRI has been elected as president of the European Association for Population Studies (EAPS). The transfer from the old to new presidency took place at the EPC conference.

EAPS Poster Awards honor the Best Poster in a poster session at every European Population Conference. This year our researchers, Laura Szabó, Balázs Kapitány and Adél Rohr won the prize with the following poster: U - shape link between education and childlessness in Hungary - a new Central European phenomenon. Congratulations!! The awarded poster.
