Population structure and dynamics

  • Print

Research on population projections focus on two main topics: changes in the  age and territorial structure of the population in the short and long term, and methodological issues. Long-term national population projections - concerning population size and its structure by sex and age - are prepared following each census, and these projections are revised in every second year until the next census. Between two censuses projections are prepared not only on national but on regional level as well. There are continuous improvements in methodology towards the probability population projection.
